Caroline Simon is a Belgian dancer, performer and improviser based in Cologne, Germany since 2001. She is member of the company Silke Z. since then.

In her artistic projects Caroline Simon is interested in the development of formats for the visibility and accessibility of dance improvisation as an art form of its own.

After several artistic coachings and research projects with other improvisation artists, she launches her solo performance series MOMENTOLOGY in 2022 and ONE MOMENT, PLEASE (improvisation performance for a young audience) in 2025.

In 2020 she curates the first edition of the biennial improvisation festival SOFORT - Improvisationstage at the ehrenfeldstudios, Cologne.
Caroline Simon is currently working on the development of an improvisation network between Cologne, Bonn, Brussels and Helsinki with other professional improvisation artists and organizations, and on the establishment of the exchange platform YOU ARE NOT ALONE to share practices, labs, workshops and performances with a focus on (solo) dance improvisation performance.

She believes that improvisational values and tools are a crucial bridge between the performing arts and our daily, social and political life.
