The company Silke Z. resistdance is an ever-changing, intercultural and transdisciplinary space of thought and action with a focus on dance and performance. Based in Cologne, Germany, the company has been producing and touring nationally and internationally since 1999, and sees itself as a kind of open system that focuses on exploring dance performance developments, audience encounters, and breaking down the classical stage space. Under the artistic direction of Silke Z., the company observes people, society(s), their socio-cultural "movement processes" and shifts. The collaboration with a wide variety of artists, dancers, thinkers, producers, authors, acquisition and office staff enables Silke Z. resistdance to examine social and individual movements heterogeneously, looking at them from different perspectives. In this way, transmedial, intergenerative performance and dance theater pieces are created, which sometimes question, sometimes provoke or reflect, and provide impulses for consciousness, sensing and thinking.
